Insurance Update

Dear Patient,

After careful consideration, our practice will no longer participate as an in-network provider with UnitedHealthcare and Aetna, effective January 1, 2027. This decision was not made lightly. We know many of our patients are covered by these plans, and we understand this change may create serious concerns. Our commitment to providing the highest quality allergy and immunology care remains completely unchanged. Unfortunately, reimbursement rates from these insurers have made it financially unsustainable to continue participating in their networks, while maintaining the level of care that I provide and the service our patients deserve and expect. You are always welcome to continue your care with us. Depending on your specific plan, you may have out-of-network benefits that reimburse a portion of your medical expenses. For out of network allergy shots we can bill you monthly. If your insurance company  uses Aetna or United Healthcare for pricing this also may  be considered as out of the network and therefore you will also need to contact your plan to find out how you will be affected when we no longer participate with these insurance plans.

Our staff will gladly answer questions, but we strongly recommend that you speak directly with your insurance company to get your exact benefits. For patients receiving allergy shots, office visits and serum will be billed the day of service. For  out of network allergy shots we can bill you monthly. If you’re using out-of-network benefits, we can help submit those claims. For sublingual allergy drops, the cost remains the same. Annual follow-up visits, however, may be out-of-network if your plan no longer recognizes our practice. We are deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in us. It has been our privilege to participate in your care, and we sincerely hope to continue serving you.

 Sincerely,

Paul Goldberg, D.O.
